When Sanjay Leela Bhansali lost his cool
By Vickey Lalwani, 22 October, 2009
When Sanjay Leela Bhansali lost his coolWhile actors in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films always have the right mannerisms and are the epitome of good behaviour, the filmmaker is known to be anything but even-tempered. In the past, Bhansali has been known to act quite aggressively with his assistants and this recent incident only proves how belligerent he can be.

While shooting on the outskirts of Goa, Bhansali threw the continuity sheets of his forthcoming Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya starrer Guzaarish in a river when one of his assistant directors made the same mistake twice. Bhansali had already warned the AD in no uncertain terms that the earlier mistake in continuity should not be repeated. Unfortunately, the AD goofed up the continuity once again and Bhansali refused to ignore it this time. That’s when the moody director screamed at the assistant director and threw the continuity sheets in the river.

On seeing Bhansali’s fit of rage, the entire unit trembled with fright. Failing to understand what to do next, one of the unit members immediately jumped into the river to recover the continuity sheets, which were, of course, fully soaked.

The shoot resumed after some time but everybody behaved cautiously on the sets all day.
